My 11 year-old son LOVES chowder... he orders it almost everywhere we go. Ipswich Clambake is one of his favorites. We get chowder here almost once a week and it is always fresh and delicious. The staff are very friendly.

Really good, fresh seafood! My fiancé and I drive all the way from Quincy for the clam chowder, definitely worth the drive. Their lobster rolls, steamers and fried clams are my favorite!! The cucumber salad is a great compliment to the seafood.

Great food, great service! Delicious clams, scallops, and sides. Legendary clam chowder. Homemade tartar sauce. Come here if you want an authentic, no frills, fresh, New England seafood experience.

I really wanted to love this place, but it was just ok. I had fried class and my daughter had the fish reuben. I really expected mine to be the best ( since they are known for their clams), but my daughter's fish reuben was better. Had the beet salad also, needed more seasoning, it basically tasted like sliced beets, not a beet"salad". If I am ever in the area again, I will try somewhere else, but glad I had the opportunity to try this at least once.

Great food and friendly service! Kept talking about the Clam Chowder but decided to go with the Ipswich Rueben and Whole Clam Plate! They were amazing! Owner brought us a sample of the chowder to try and it was so amazing we bought a bowl to go! Will definitely return next time we are in the area!

One of the best place to get the best tasting food. The clams are out of this world. And the owners are wonderful and truly love what they do.

This is a great spot, nothing to impressive as far as flare and cliche ambiance for a northshore clam spot ,but it beats waiting in line outside for an hour at any other local clam spot. You want the real locally caught , fresh, seafood and fair prices and want it in a timely manner.. skip the nostalgia and come here this is where the locals go.

Recently ordered lobsters, steamers and clam chowder to go. As always, food was delicious and service was great. Will be back, again!

Wonderful! We ended up here after finding other clam houses closed for the season. I am delighted that did. The food was amazing! We had clam chowder which was the best I have ever had, fried clams which were absolutely delicious, and the baked scallops which were cooked to absolute perfection. We will be returning tonight (our last night before heading home). This is a must go restaurant if you love clams!

Owner is extremely rude to customers! Took my order and was extremely disrespectful throughout the experience. Although the kitchen staff seemed very hardworking, my family and I will not be returning.

Good food (not great) and decently priced. It's more of a takeout place. We went there for lunch and had their clam chowder, which was great. We didn't like their steak tips but that may be due to our preference. Everything they brought us was in a disposable container (including disposable plates) so I took one star for the unecessary waste. Napkin holders in the tables were dirty. Had to tip in the counter before trying their food, which was weird.

The food is amazing and the service is great. The owners are so dialed in and all about customer service. The ultimate clam chowdah... is insane! It's clam chowder in a bread bowl with lobstah meat on it. I have also had the clams and perfect.

Love the Ipswich Clambake! Great owners, staff, customer service, and AMAZING food! The Chowda Is a must get, along with the steamers, and the lobsters... grab them to go and have your own clam bake made easy in the comfort of your own home. Let Ipswich Clambake do the work! Highly recommend!

Went to the clambake instead of the clam box tonight.... clams were awful and the help very rude. Won’t make that mistake again
